TYLOPHOS MG is Tylosin phosphate 10% in granular form. Like other macrolides Tylophos MG has a bacteriostatic on susceptible organisms, caused by inhibition of protein synthesis through binding to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. Tylosin phosphate is used for veterinary purposes against bacterial dysentery and respiratory diseases in poultry, pigs and cattle. Tylosin phosphate exerts antibacterial effects by binding to 23S rRNA of the bacterial ribosomal 50S subunit. Tylosin is a commonly used in-feed antimicrobial and is approved in several countries to reduce the incidence of liver abscesses in beef cattle.
