Product Name: 1121 Sella (Golden Sella) Basmati Rice

HSN Code: 10063020

Description:
1121 Sella Basmati Rice is a premium parboiled (sella) variety derived from the extra-long-grain 1121 Basmati rice, cultivated primarily in the Indo-Gangetic plains of India (Punjab, Haryana, and parts of Uttar Pradesh). The parboiling process gives the grains their characteristic golden hue, added firmness, and enhanced nutrient retention compared to raw (white) basmati.

Key Characteristics:

  • Grain Length: Extra-long grain, typically 8.3 mm (raw) extending to 20–22 mm after cooking
  • Color: Golden/amber due to the sella (parboiling) process
  • Aroma: Distinct natural basmati fragrance, though slightly milder than raw basmati due to processing
  • Texture: Firm, non-sticky grains that separate well after cooking
  • Aging: Commonly available aged 1, 2, or 4+ years for improved cooking quality and elongation
  • Moisture Content: Typically ≤14%
  • Broken Grains: Usually ≤2% in premium grades
