In India, the elephant has always been a symbol of auspiciousness, wisdom, and abundance. Lord Ganesha rides one. Laxmi is flanked by them. In the royal courts of Rajasthan, no procession was complete without the magnificent elephant leading the way. This Elephant Chowki brings that same energy to your home.
Shaped from solid wood by artisan families in Udaipur, this low stool is carved and painted in the form of an elephant the full body forming the seat, the legs forming the base, the trunk emerging from the front. The folk art painting follows the Rajasthani tradition of bold outline, flat colour, and meticulous surface patterning. The top is sturdy enough to sit on or use as a plant stand or side table.

An elephant is deeply auspicious in Vastu Shastra, particularly near the entrance with the trunk raised â the traditional position for inviting prosperity. The Elephant Chowki works beautifully in the north-east corner or near the main entrance. An elephant in the north direction is associated with career growth and stability. Avoid placing it in the bedroom.
