Atraumatic intestinal clamps are used to manipulate, grasp, and occlude (clamp off) delicate tissues and organs such as the intestinal wall, blood vessels, and other internal organs during various surgical procedures. Their primary function is to control bleeding (act as hemostats), hold tissues for manipulation and isolation, and secure organs during complex surgeries in fields like general, gynecological, and cardiovascular surgery.

Grasping and Manipulating Tissue:
These clamps are designed to securely grip and hold delicate intestinal walls, mucous surfaces, and internal organs without causing crushing or significant trauma to the tissue.

Controlling Bleeding (Hemostasis):
They function as hemostats to clamp and secure blood vessels to prevent hemorrhage (excessive bleeding) during surgery.

Securing and Isolating Organs:
In complex procedures like bowel resections, they help in holding and isolating bowel segments.

Deep Tissue Access:
Some designs, such as the Doyen-Baby clamp, are slender to facilitate access to deep tissues and narrow spaces within the body.
