We trade with annatto seeds which are cultivated in the deep forests of Andhra Pradesh - India. We procure directly from the farmers who is into the cultivation of Annatto seeds.



Biological history:


Annatto seeds is an orange - red condiment tiny, tangy red seeds derived from the seeds of the annatto tree (Bixa Orellana). They are commonly called achiote.


 


Uses:


Annatto Seeds are often used to bring a bright color to oils, rice dishes, and meat. Primarily used in Latin and Caribbean cooking.


Annatto Seeds Whole is the primary ingredient in achiote oil. They are cooked down in hot oil until the seed on the inside is exposed turning the oil bright yellow for use.


Annatto and its extracts are now widely used in an artisanal or industrial scale as a coloring agent in many processed food products, such as cheeses, dairy spreads, butter and margarine, custards, cakes and other baked goods, potatoes, snack foods, breakfast cereals, smoked fish, sausages, and more. 


Industrial food coloring Colby cheese colored with annatto Annatto is used currently to impart a yellow or orange color to many industrialized and semi-industrialized foods, including cheese, ice cream, bakery products, desserts, fruit fillings, yogurt, beverages, butter, oils, margarines, processed cheese, and fat-based products.


 


Safety and Certification in commercial Usage:


No restriction for its commercial usage and is "exempted of certification" in the United States by the Food and Drug Administration considers colorants derived from it and is informally considered to be a natural coloring.


Annatto condiments and colorants are safe for most people when used in food amounts.
