    Description of AAC, AAAC, AL59 and ACSR Conductors

    1. AAC (All Aluminium Conductor)

    AAC is a stranded conductor made entirely from high-conductivity EC-grade aluminium wires. It offers excellent electrical conductivity, low weight, and good corrosion resistance, making it suitable for short-span overhead distribution lines where high mechanical strength is not required. AAC is commonly used in urban distribution networks, substations, and coastal areas with relatively short spans.

AAAC also offers excellent corrosion resistance, making it ideal for coastal, industrial, and polluted environments.

AL59 is increasingly used in transmission line uprating and new high-capacity power transmission projects.

The aluminium provides electrical conductivity, while the steel core provides high tensile strength, enabling long spans and heavy mechanical loading. ACSR is one of the most widely used conductors for overhead transmission worldwide.
